Family

1.       “A family built on the marriage of a man and a woman supplies the best setting for God’s plan to thrive-the setting for the birth of children, who come in purity and innocence from God”        ( Elder D. Todd Christofferson “Why Marriage, Why Family” Ensign, May 2015, pp 50-53 )

3.       “Elder Joseph Fielding Smith taught: ‘It is the duty of parents to teach their children these savings principles of the gospel of Jesus Christ, so that they will know why they are to be baptized and that they may be impressed in their hearts with a desire to continue to keep the commandments of God after they are baptized, that they may come back into his presence.’ ” (Elder L. Tom Perry “Mothers Teaching Children in the Home”, Ensign, May 2010 pp 29-31)

Packer “These Things I Know”, Ensign, May 2013 pp 6-8)

5.       “A woman’s moral influence is nowhere more powerfully felt or more beneficially employed than in the home.  There is no better setting for rearing the rising generation than the traditional family, where a father and a mother work in harmony to provide for , teach, and nurture their children.”  (Elder D. Todd Christofferson “The Moral Force of Women”  Ensign, November 2013 pp 29-32)

Todd Christofferson “The Moral Force of Women”  Ensign, November 2013 pp 29-32)

7.       “If we allow our culture to reduce the special relationship that children have with mothers and grandmothers and others who nurture them, we will come to regret it.” (Elder Quentin L. Cook  “Lamentations of Jeremiah:  Beware of Bondage” Ensign,  November 2013 pp 88-91)

8.       “Marriage between a man and a woman is God’s pattern for a fullness of life on earth and in heaven.  God’s marriage pattern cannot be abused, misunderstood, or misconstrued.  Not if you want true joy.” (Elder Russell M. Nelson “Decisions for Eternity” Ensign, November  2013 pp 106-109)

9.       “We believe that the organization and government of heaven will be built around families and extended families.” (Elder L. Tom Perry “Why Marriage and Family Matter-Everywhere in the World” Ensign, May 2015 pp 39-42 )

10.   “The family is very much alive and well in the Church.  Hundreds of thousands of happy families face life with an unwavering faith in the future.  The course we follow is not of our own making.  The plan of salvation, the great plan of happiness, was revealed to us, and the prophets and Apostles continue to receive revelation as the Church and its members stand in need of more.” (Elder David A. Bednar “Watching with All Perseverance”  Ensign, May 2010, pp 40-43)
